This year again we had 8 willing golfers wanting to take part in The Tassie which was held at The Berkshire in mid-June. And although we did not win a trophy this year, the girls still managed very creditable performances. Team A consisting of Libby Klugman, Pippa Lyons, Charlotte Church and Jane Evans came third and were only 2 points (93) off the second place which was taken by Millfield with 95. Charlotte and Jane won the prize for having the most stableford points for the 27 holes. The CLC Team B consisted of Nicky Alexander, Elizabeth Holbrook, Elisabeth Macdonald and Meredith Cristopher and they came 9th with 84 points. Team Captain in my absence was Jane Evans who not only won a prize, as you will have read, but captained the teams extremely efficiently, and I know everyone would have enjoyed their day. I was unable to play for the team this year but as you can see –they did not need me! The Tassie competition is a four-ball better ball Stableford competition held for all independent girls' schools throughout the UK.
Our autumn meeting will hopefully be an away night with golf for members of the society. Full details will be emailed to all members and hopefully we may attract some new members. Just get in touch with myself at either email@example.com or phone 01386 462681.

A cold dry sunny day greeted 6 CLC girls and 6 Sherborne Old Girls at Moor Park, Hertfordshire in March. The format was as usual a four-ball better ball match play and each team fought hard to win for their side. It was an exceedingly close match with the result coming down to the to the last putt on the 18th. Just like the recent Masters without the gallery of folks watching us! The final result was 2 – 1 to Sherborne but all those who took part from both sides thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The CLC team consisted of Pippa Lyons, Caroline Leslie, Meredith Christopher, Debbie Walker (really an old girl from Harrogate but an honorary CLC girl for the day!) Helen Macleod-Smith and Fee Mitchell. It was a shame that Kiran Grewel who is a member at Moor Park and helped organise the day was unable to play, but we welcomed her support on the day. Attached is a photo of the CLC team.
Our next outing will be The Tassie to be played at The Berkshire in June. Yet again this year we are able to enter two teams such is the competitive spirit of the CLC girls! We have come second the last two years and of course the team are determined to reach first place this year.
We have been joined by two new members to the Society this year and are always happy to welcome others. So if you fancy joining any of our society days, just get in touch with myself – Fee Mitchell – email: firstname.lastname@example.org and we will let you have news of future events.
