For over 160 years College has pioneered pathways for girls to take their place in the world.
Over the coming decade our goal is for College and the girls to succeed as never before; we are ambitious for them collectively and individually. But we cannot do it alone.
We are very grateful to those Guild members who so generously support College, enabling us to maintain our place as a world leading school.
Unlike many other schools, College does not have an endowment fund to draw from to invest in our estate, our resources or our bursaries programme. We rely wholly on the generosity and support of like-minded people; those who share our commitment to academic excellence and wish to see College flourish.
In education, where student-to-teacher ratios are a competitive advantage, there are significant costs associated with having the best people working at College. People are our greatest asset – and our greatest expense. Salaries and benefits for teachers and staff make up approximately 75% of our annual budget. Simply put, quality is expensive.
Beyond these costs our 23-acre site, much of it heritage listed, requires continuous maintenance and, as we look to the future, necessary investment.
To meet the needs of College and realise the Principal’s vision, we have a long term fundraising plan, CLC Flourish.
CLC FLOURISH CAPITAL PROJECTS supporting the Estate master plan
CLC FLOURISH BEALE AWARDS, supporting the College bursary fund
CLC FLOURISH ANNUAL FUND, supporting curriculum enrichment programmes
There are many ways that you can support College and we are very grateful for the continued interest in our future. Every gift makes a difference, no matter how small. Find out why.
In addition to financial contributions, we invite support through a gift of your time or expertise.
Have you considered making a bequest? Find out more about the importance of legacies.
Joining Bellis is a very special way to secure the future of College. We are indebted to those who so generously remember College and wish to extend our heartfelt thanks for their support. All those who notify us that they wish to make a bequest are acknowledged as Bellis members, unless they choose to remain anonymous.
A legacy donation is one of the most meaningful and enduring gifts you can give. Whatever their size, legacies directly benefit the College, its pupils and staff. Gifts may be directed towards specific areas of College life, or left without restrictions for allocation wherever College needs it most.
The Bellis Society, exclusively available only to Bellis donors, offers a number of special events annually, in addition to College events open to members of Bellis, to acknowledge their contribution and support. Members of the Bellis Society will automatically receive invitations to these important events.
Named to commemorate the daisy, our College emblem, The Bellis Society was established in September 2003 during our 150th Anniversary to recognise the generosity and support of those who have chosen to leave a gift to College in their will.
